J Cole stopped by Funk Masters Flex and drops knowledge on some key areas of male life. He also delivers his take on the recent "un-friendly," exchange between Kid Cudi and rap mate Wale.
This is going to be good , No I.D is a beast on the buttons and we know Ms Hudson can sing her arse off, whilst Common and Lupe's calibre need not be questioned.
The four come together to make a Chicago centric anthem all in the name of REPLAY, a special project thought up by the guys at Gatorade, find out more here.
I'm usually the guy pissing all over New Era's efforts to make apparel, because lets be honest its all a bit shoddy and pants. However this varsity does look the part. Its all part of New Era's 90th anniversary and the Japanese chapter of the brand have decided to celebrate it via releasing two jackets made from melton wool and lambskin, with the dates 1920 and 2010 on each sleeve. I dig it, now all I've got to do it get it from here.
Just peeped this over on GrimeDaily. My Life , My Choice is a new film from up north and if you want to get location specific, Birmingham. There's no rapping in this one so it should be better and less comedic than 1day. Trailer looks decent, not too sure about the name though.
10ille or Tennille? I don't know but I remember hearing her voice over some old Cool Kids cuts, I stumbled upon her on Gone Fishings "Jump Rope." Her voice didn't offend, but I wasn't going crazy over her lyrical prowess either. Now it seems that she's back , she dropped A Bronx Tale at the end of the summer. I didn't download it I cant lie, but now i'm honestly thinking about it, due to the leaks ive been hearing. Chief Rockas has that vintage feel to it plus she flows her socks off, whilst Yellow Haze is pleasant . Its just a shame that Mikey Rocks outshines her on each song.
I was out in Amsterdam for a weekend with Hnw_Kwarmz to check Dr.Lemonwhose living out there. I didn't have any type of "proper" camera device with me except for the lens within my Blackberry...Curve! So needless to say some pictures are lacking, so forgive me, in fact I should stop apologising. There's not a lot of pictures I must say because I wasn't really down to snap too much shit, nice town though. Cool shops ,some people were bless, some were pricks.
Here's the run down
Love this tune, this was getting rinsed during the weekend of Heynuleak does Amsterdam. I just got back like 2 hours ago, and I know that if I don't post it, we'll be getting one of those evening Music Mondays like last week and I know that you lot don't want that. In this song the bass knocks and Muhsinahs voice is beyond great, its fantastic.
Chris Rock's film 'Good Hair' really threw it into perspective. It would seem that black women have the biggest issues with thier hair. This is Sesame Street's message to you black girls.
Heres another cut from 9th's upcoming documentary the wonder years, this time with Drake waxing lyrical about collaborating with 9th and creating a hit song. I'm quite pleased that Drake is paying homage to those who have been doing it before, especially those who are sticking to the "that brand" of boom bap hip hop, which I love so much.
I got much love for the dudes over at Benjart, they good guys. Expect to see much more in the shape of interviews and behind the scenes of what's going on at the burgeoning street brand that is Benjart, but for now you get a trailer.
Posting this Music Monday quite late, I must say. It's because of work, its good fun but it'll have you running around like a headless chicken. But forgetting poultry and going back to the music. I posted some Twizz a few weeks back and this another one of the gems that just sitting on that free project. Stop sleeping and get it.
Got a couple free joints from Full Crate and F.S Greens up coming new project "Eggs and Pancakes." Forever smooth the dutch meitsters use a sample that you might have heard of Rick Ross' teflon don,on the track Never Never, and FS Green gives us the real on Monoshow.
There's also some nice footage of the Mastering of their new disc...Enjoy.
This is Tyga's latest joint, its decent isn't it. I think i'm kinda frass [drunk] when I'm posting this so I might be feeling it too much. Its rumoured to be on his new album "Careless World," I don't know who took care of the production to be honest. My guess would be Pharell but who knows.
NSW collaborations can sometimes be said to be somewhat predictable, good, but predictable. However I didn't see this one coming. Nike have joined forces with Scottish wool makers Harris Tweed to create an Air Royalty with very seasonal twist. It even looks like Autumn with the tan leather and moss green wool uppers. Might not be every ones cup of tweed (shit joke) but its interesting none the less.
I've slept on dude, forgive me leakers. This guy is a talent, Motive from PnB put me onto it and I ran it past my ears briefly and just left it in the iTunes archive. Kendrick Lamar straight out of LA spits a type of LA rap i'm not really used to hearing, "Critics call him conscious."
Don't sleep enjoy this song then go get his album Overly Dedicated.
If you don't want to support the iTunes hustle, grab his free EP
I didn't bring my camera out on this day, I thought it was going to get overly messy. Handling liquor and a rented SLR don't really mix well plus those 550d's can get really annoying to lug around. So it's up to Nick and the good lot at Spine to give you some footage and interviews from the Crooked Tongues BBQ.
