If you dont know about VV brown and your in the uk and claim you love music, i dont believe you. VV full name Vanessa Brown singer songwriter stunner and all the rest of that good stuff, is a london native blessed with a killer sound, recently featured on the Charity record "i got soul," which we blogged about. way way way back.
Anywho's the leak managed to grab a minute of the rising stars time, and managed to talk features and future plans.
VV BROWN, this year seems to have been a busy year for you, how do you feel about what you have achieved so far. Your album travelling like light came out in the summer, are you happy about the way it has been received.
Yes we have had some great reviews. Its a good debut to set a foundation for hopefully a long career.
I've heard that not only are you blessed with a beautiful voice your a talent with musical instruments as well,and that you played many of the instruments on your album.
Yes. I was kinda forced to as I couldn't afford to pay anyone else. As the record developed we did have other musicians but the core was me. I loved experimenting with instruments and creating sounds out of bowls and megaphones and spoons and one string guitars etc
Who or What would say are one of your main musical influences?
So many. I don't really have one.
Your also a song writer by the name of "Geeki," would you ever consider letting anyone writing some material for you,or will always write your own stuff
Most definatley, I think it would be arrogant to defy a good song just because you didn't write it. I just wanna make good music, on my own, with someone else... Doesn't matter as long as someone gets touched or inspired.
You were on the charity record "I got soul" which featured a few uk rappers/ grime artists, how do you feel about that whole project.
Very honoured. Something to help the lives of others. Its beautiful and did very well !
Back to the album, whats you favourite track and why?
Back in time. It currently was placed in vampire diaries which was fantastic !
Looking forward when could expect to see a new album or right now are you just concentrated on this
Next year. I wanna keep going. It depends though, all is relative. France seems to be kicking off as we are doing a big tv out there and have a big advert and radio there and americas bubbling, who knows. The I tune generation provides the opputunity for us to release music quickly. Who knows ? Quality comes first but I just wanna keep it moving keep it growing and not hide away ! I tell my record company " work me like a dog"
